Fish Tacos a la Fresh Lake Cachuma is one of Southern California’s premier lakes and many anglers are growing fonder of it each year. Cachuma holds quality fish from many targeted species, it is easy to reach, and most importantly there are no ski boats, wakeboard boats, or PWCs allowed. The new launch ramp allows for easy launch and retrieval of most any size boat. Rental boats are also available including pontoon boats for bigger parties. Excellent fishing days are common when finesse fishing for bass, trolling for trout, or dipping jigs for crappie. The area around Lake Cachuma was recently hit by wildfires, however signs of life are emerging as deer can be seen feeding on the lake shore. The lake is surrounded by lush green hillsides and the ocean breeze is the cherry on top during a scorching afternoon. When searching for the next fishing trip make Lake Cachuma your choice. Our fishing report link has all the information you need to make Lake Cachuma your next honey hole.

The Pacific Ocean is thriving with big game fish starting every year around the month of June. Now is the time to spool up those reels that haven't seen the light of day for eight months and plan a trip on one of the many chartered or open party fishing boats. There are so many to choose from for different types of fishing. I recently had the privilege to join Mike Bullard and his crew aboard the Pacific Star and it goes down as one of my top fishing adventures.
Bullard's experience and knowlege has recently hooked many anglers on a variety of fish including, but not limited to yellowtail, white sea bass, halibut, calico bass, sheep head, and rockfish. Bullard has been a licensed captain for 30 years and his experience keeps fishermen happy trip after trip. Soon, the Pacific Star will be heading from Pierpoint Landing in Long Beach back to her home water in San Diego. Some dates are available, however they are filling up quickly.
The Pacific Star Sportfishing website includes all the information necessary for a successful big game fishing trip. Speak to a Pacific Star representative at (951) 302-6383, and set up your next fishing excursion before space fills up. See you on the water.

Summer brings many options for fishermen throughout California. The snow melt opens roads to high country lakes and streams, while the seas calm and warm, creating comfortable habitat for big game fish. As anglers dust off their fishing gear, boats are removed from garages and captains finish preparations for the months ahead. It is now the time to get out on the water. One local hot-spot with few crowds is located a stone’s throw east of Santa Barbara.
